The San de Cristos Mountains are a long mountain chain starting from Salida Colorado to Sante Fe New Mexico. As the crow flies, they are about 300 miles long. A special feature about these mountains is that they rise very steeply from the valley floor almost as they shot up from the ground jus a few years ago.
